The people who finish are almost never the people with the biggest idea. They're the ones who shipped something modest and kept going.
A first project has one job: to prove to you that this is possible. That is all. It does not need to be impressive and it certainly does not need to be a business.
Pick the thing that would take you an evening and save you a small annoyance every week. Finish it. The confidence you gain is the actual asset.
Small does not mean trivial
A birthday reminder page is small. It is also genuinely useful, involves real data, real dates and real people, and teaches you most of what a bigger build requires.
Scope grows naturally once something exists. Nothing grows out of a blank page.
