Start here: idea to published website
Seven steps, in order. Nothing here requires you to write code — only to describe what you want clearly enough that an AI platform can build it.
Step 1
Name the idea in one sentence
Before anything else, write what the site is and who it belongs to. "A private website for my family so birthdays, photos and recipes live in one place." That single sentence steers every decision that follows.
Step 2
Decide who signs in and what they see
Most first projects have two kinds of people: you, who can edit everything, and everyone else, who can look and contribute a little. Writing this down early is what keeps private material private.
Step 3
List the pages, not the features
Home, birthdays, photos, recipes, stories. Pages are easy to picture and easy to describe. Features come from asking what each page must do.
Step 4
Choose your build tool
Any AI development platform that builds real, publishable websites will do. You will be describing what you want in plain language and reviewing what it produces.
Step 5
Paste the Master Prompt
Instead of improvising in a chat box, you start with a complete brief — project, purpose, users, pages, features, data, admin and privacy — and adjust the parts that are yours.
Step 6
Refine one section at a time
Build the shape first, then improve a single page per sitting. Small, specific requests produce far better results than one enormous one.
Step 7
Publish and invite your people
Put it online, add your own domain if you want one, and send the link to the handful of people it was made for. A weekend is usually enough.
